Event manager: spice up your next party

You're organizing an event for an important client. It's a party you have to create from scratch. You need to decide on everything from the floral arrangements and menu to the seating chart and guest favors. And you're facing a blank page? As for entertainment, aside from the essential DJ, what can you offer to surprise your guests?

At a reception, it's not just about feeding the guests. You want them to experience the moment, to be entertained, and to create lasting memories. So, what can you offer as a memorable idea, something they'll talk about with others?

The photo booth is popular, but a bit commonplace. You have to queue and it's difficult for everyone to get a picture.

The cocktail juggler is spectacular, but what remains of it apart from a video on your phone?

When you organize your own party, you want to make it your own, something that the participants will remember as the highlight of the event. And something that will generate buzz for your client.

One crucial aspect is human interaction. When your guests discover a booth dedicated to them, where the focus is on adding a touch of fun to the evening, it makes all the difference.

They feel incredibly valued. They're practically stars for a day!

They can chat around the booth and be entertained by the show.

The current trend is live illustration, which combines several elements to ensure the success of your event. The concept of event drawing involves creating illustrations of guests during the evening and giving them these creations as a unique memento of this enjoyable occasion.

This activity offers several advantages:

  • During the evening, guests can observe the creative process, discuss art and culture, and enjoy engaging interactions.

  • They discover how their look is perceived through the eyes of an artist.

  • They can admire a portrait of their aunt or have fun recognizing one of their best friend.n and appreciated.

I'm an event illustrator, living near Luxembourg, but I've also worked in Metz, Brussels, and Paris.

In this blog, I'll give you some tips to help you make the most of your live illustration event!

  • An illustrator is on hand to interact with clients, highlight their best features, and offer them a unique keepsake. Less durable than a photo printing machine, but so much more authentic!

  • A drawing takes between 7 and 12 minutes, for a truly unique result: everyone sees themselves in a better light, in flattering lighting—it's well worth the effort!

  • Live drawing is a relatively uncommon form of entertainment and always creates a buzz; your event will be unlike any other!

  • The illustration table doesn't require any fancy equipment or electricity; a simple standard table and chairs are all you need for a complete setup. As the event manager, you're free to decorate the table for even more appeal!

  • There are two approaches: the less common option is drawing live, with the model seated facing the illustrator. This can sometimes be intimidating, depending on the individual!

The more frequent method involves illustrating from a photograph, capturing the key elements (skin tone, outfit, accessories, hair, etc.). This method allows for a more relaxed experience for clients and is well-suited to events where other activities (product testing, marketing presentations, tastings, etc.) are offered.

  • The drawings are collected in an envelope that I include in my service. Guests can leave with a souvenir they'll be happy to show off and remember this special moment from your event.

So, what are you waiting for?
